Baby's name: Jayden Nicholas Degrave

I'm currently at 32 weeks and 2 days. This baby is coming soon and I can't wait!

Hi, I am new here. My name is Britta and I am from Germany. So you'll get dates and measures in other formats but I am pretty confident that you're all smart enough to figure it out. Some stats behind the cut...Collapse )

I've bought some summer maternity clothes yesterday, although it's still pretty damn cold here. Also a nice bathsuit. Does anyone else here visit a sauna regulary? Because I've been doing this for about 10 years now and I still do it. Not so hot and long as I used to but I still go. The baby is doing fine. I live in the country so my gyn only has the normal ultrasound and I only have one picture from it. So no baby pics from me til the little one is here. But it's kicking all along and I'll have my first CTG next week. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat. :)

So that's it for now. Hope to make some new friends around here.

Feeling Crappy! [17 Feb 2006|10:42am]

honey31702
I haven't posted in here in a long time but I took an LJ break so that's pretty much why. For those that don't remember me, my name is Diana. I'm 23, have been married to my husband Nick for 3 years. We have a son named Hunter who just turned 4 today and we have an angel in heaven named David. We lost David at 19 weeks 3 days due to what was diagnosed as incompetent cervix. I am currently 28 weeks 4 days pregnant and have no cerclage (stitch to keep the cervix shut). I am on modified bedrest and will be until I deliver. We're hoping to get to at least May 15 which is full term.

These last couple days I have felt terrible. I've actually been sort of worried that I was in pre-term labor. I've had a ton of extra pressure, I've been super sore and I've been constipated. I was really close to going to L&D but I drank tons of prune juice (puke) and took some Colace last night and feel much better this morning. I really didn't think being constipated could make me feel that terribly. I'm still not feeling real good so I'm wondering if I might have some sort of stomach virus. I'm still sore but that's mainly because of having to lay down all day long.

As for the soreness, just wondering if anyone else has felt like this. The only way to describe it is that I feel like I just got off a horse. I'm sore down between my legs, almost like muscle stretching or bruising. My Peri said it could just be the fact that I'm carrying the baby extremely low (she dropped at 22 weeks and is head down right on my cervix) and she's gaining weight so it's adding more pressure to everything down there. I just can't believe I have another possible 11 weeks of this!!

Well, here's some belly pics from 28 weeks!! I'll try to get around here more often!

I'm curious [16 Mar 2006|02:21pm]

Before start paining the nursery this weekend (in girl-y lavendar), do any of you know someone who was assuredly told by their ultrasound tech (via regular or 3D)of the gender and then...ooops baby came & was the opposite gender?

I don't know of anyone personally who has had it happen when they found gender in advance. I heard about someone from DH when my DD was born 3 1/2 years ago. But, 3D ultrasounds weren't a regular thing then. And, I am guessing in the cases when it does happen, the ultrasound tech couldn't confidently state gender or only speculated and the parents went with it. In both my pregnancies, the tech provided pretty definitive ultrasound photos.

Anyone know of anyone who had a surprise and the details of their story?

Braxton Hicks [13 Feb 2006|01:56pm]

angelic_1
[ mood | sore ]

I have been feeling a lot of Braxton hicks contractions lately. I have said this many a time to many people but I will say it to you too: The person who said that Braxton Hick contractions are simply painless practice labour had to be a guy or a woman who never had kids. Admittedly I didn't have a lot of Braxton Hicks with my son Jonathan and they were not particularly memorable but with this little angel - ouch and again I say ouch! These are the sort of contractions that make you want to double over in pain and take a few sharp breaths. And I am only 24 weeks (tomorrow). That means I get the joy of another 13-16 weeks of these wonderful things before I get to have them all in a row and over and done with until the next child. Sometimes I wish I was a man!!! :)

child birth.... [29 Jan 2006|10:00am]

helper_no1
hi everyone - I live in Australia and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good book based only on labour - I'm trying to gain knowledge on how to have a natural labour. I was trying to get a book on the bradley method - only we dont have it in Australia and to order it from the US is going to take 10 weeks - a little long I thought.
Any help would be fantastic!
Thanks

It's a GIRL! [19 Jan 2006|04:05pm]

[ mood | happy ]

I had my "big ultrasound" yesterday. Little babe at 10 oz is doing well, I'm told. Actually measuring at 19w 2d on 19 weeks to the day yesterday. I love when they go around and identify parts at different angles and such...it's like interpreting another language. Some of it I "get" (spine, heart, arms, legs, foot, etc.) but some was just Greek to DH & I. But, still fun. 3D ultrasound is some pretty amazing technology.

My DH thought it was a girl. I had a dream that I actually saw a baby boy in utero. Alas, DH was right...we're having a little girl! We are very excited and DH came up with what may be the perfect name when we were alone in the ultrasound room. Once we decide for sure, I will definitely announce! :)

So, my little three year old will have a baby sister, just like she "requested" when we started talking about the baby. My two girls. :) I can't help but think back to how glad I was when my own sister was born in my family with three brothers.

I haven't scanned the US photos yet but will try to do so this weekend.

I already bought her a new dress over lunch. I'm glad she'll have plenty of wardrobe supplements, however...there were times when I went a little overboard with my first girl.

Now, if I could just get over this lingering cold/sinus thingy, life would be grand.

Midwife visit [11 Jan 2006|12:29pm]

angelic_1
[ mood | calm ]

She came to my place about 11:30. There had been some mix up about location and time but at least I got to see her. She also said it is likely that she will come to me more often than not since I have Jonathan and he can be a handle in a strange place. Well she didn't say the last part, just that I had a child. I also live relatively close to her so it is quicker to come here than to drive to the clinic.

So how are things going? My pee looks lovely. I am still praying against gestational diabetes though. Even though I have had no sugar in my urine to date it doesn't mean I can't get it so I have to keep an eye on things. My blood pressure is practically perfect in every way. It was only 120/70 so basically ideal for a person my age regardless of the fact that I am pregnant. Heart rate was 145bpm so that was nice. I am still measuring big. I am presently 19 weeks but measuring 23 weeks. We are wondering if I am really due a month earlier. At this point I deny the possibility of twins. I know there is a chance but I really don't want twins and although I will love them heaps when they are born one would be a lot cheaper for us right now. I go for my scan in less than a week so all will hopefully be revealed then. I hope the baby doesn't have much dignity yet and has their legs wide open so we can tell the sex.

Meat Nausea [05 Jan 2006|04:58pm]

angelic_1
Well I was going so well in this pregnancy. Nothing except for lettuce salad was making me feel ill and let's face it, we can all do without lettuce salad for a while. Well today I was preparing our dinner. I was making a mince meat dish (you Americans call it ground beef) and What do you know... as soon as the meat hit the pan I was gagging. It is good quality kiwi beef too but that didn't help my tummy at all.

Last pregnancy all I could eat for the first few months and what I preferred from there on in was Burger King. Now I can't stomach the idea of Burger King right now and Geoff's suggested McDonald's and I almost barfed at the mere suggestion so I guess this kid (these kids) are K.F.C type fans. Sheesh! Pregnancy can be expensive if all you can eat is fast food!

New to the community. [04 Jan 2006|07:09pm]

Hello,

My name is Emily, I live in New Hampshire, and I just turned 23. I've been with my husband, Chris, since August 2002 and we've been married since August of 2004. We have a beautiful little boy named Anthony who is 14 months, born October 29, 2004. I found out a few days before his birthday that we're expecting another child. My EDD is June 25, 2006.

As of right now i'm 15w3d. I've been to the doctors a few times and have an ultrasound scheduled about four weeks from now. So far this pregnancy has been pretty different than my first. I had morning sickness all throughout my first trimester this time around and with my first I wasn't sick until my second trimester. Thus far i've actually lost about 7 pounds since i've gotten pregnant. I did with my first one also. My sons heart rate was always in the low 140s and with this one so far its been around 160. So we're thinking this one may be a girl. I guess we'll hopefully find out at the ultrasound.

Well that's it for now. I may post bad in a couple weeks when I have my next doctors appointment. Or sooner if I have any questions or something to share.

14.4 weeks [29 Dec 2005|10:36am]

nisabba
The July comm. told me there was a June comm., which for some reason, i didn't find on my own. Anyway, we're a bit cuspy, my EDD is June 26th. This is my first pregnancy and I'm barely showing @ 14 weeks. I don't wear maternity clothes, and I don't really intend to, since my biggest months will be in the warmer weather when I can just let it hang out over a skirt, however, I wanted to swim at my gym this winter and I don't think that my thong bikini will be appropriate for that in Feb, at 5-6 mos prego, and for exercise!!! So, I did venture into the maternity store in the mall, Old Navy, and Target and they really don't have any decent swim suits. Does anyone here have any other suggestions, perhaps an on-line store???

I just joined and I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Kailey and I am 15 years old. My boyfriend is 19 years old. We are expecting our first child, which wasn't planned, but it happened. We love each other very much and we're handling this the best we can. I am 14 weeks and 2 days pregnant. My due date is June 21, 2006. I'm not that familiar with livejournal. I'm more of a greatestjournal person, but livejournal has more/better pregnant communities. I have my first ultrasound picture here.

This was taken about a week and a half ago.

How much weight have y'all gained so far? I'm fairly short (4'11") and as far as I know I'm only having one baby. ;o) I have already gained 12 pounds. I was a bit heavier than I should have been when I got pg, and I haven't been eating excessive amounts of food, so I'm just curious if it's normal for someone as short as me to gain weight quicker than someone that is taller? Any insight?
